Prospective Owner Questionnaire

---

Since I want to know the same things about prospective homes for my  pups, I’m using this questionnaire to learn more about you.  Please copy the following list of questions and your answers into an email or simply fill this form out and send it back to me.  There are no right or wrong answers but please give as much information as you feel will be helpful.  Your answers will help me determine if you are the right home for a Samoyed and which pup would be the best match for you and your family.

I do have some basic requirements for all homes:

*     You must have a fenced area of some sort.  This can be either a fenced yard or a smaller kennel run.  Samoyeds are arctic dogs who were born to run, explore, hunt, herd, pull and generally be intelligent, independent beings.  They will run away from a home that is not secure.  Preferred height of your fence is 6 feet.

*     You must keep your Samoyed as part of your family.  The Samoyed is a social animal who must be part of your family.  This isn’t to say the dog must be with you at all times but in no circumstances is your Samoyed to be kept exclusively as an outdoor dog.  A happy Samoyed is a joy to live with, an unhappy one will become destructive and a neighborhood nuisance.

*     I will not place two littermates in the same home nor will I place Samoyed pups in a home where there is another dog that has been there less than one year.  This is because I feel it is important that each dog be able to bond with its family and receive basic training before the next dog joins the household.

*     If you are under 18 or live with other people, everyone in the household must be in favor of getting a Samoyed.
